Field Day
Field Day

Field Day is a good way to test skills and equipment without being home on a base station.  If there ever is a real disaster we will know how to build a station that will work anywhere, anytime.

I lived in South Florida during hurricane Andrew and saw heavy populated places with nothing left but piles of wood and broken cement blocks.  The only way to communicate was with radio and the only way to get radio to work was to set up temporary stations in a field.  I am talking about a real field, and we were there for 2 months.

A real disaster could happen right here in Suwannee County.  It would be nice to know that we CAN handle it and FIELD DAY is a great way to prepare for such an emergency.

Generators, Radio Shacks and A/C are nice, but during an emergency you probably won't be able to find them.

At FIELD DAY we can learn to prepare for a real emergencies, recruit new HAMS and have a good time.

Field Day is fun - real emergencies are not. - Let's be prepared.

Field Day setup begins at 10am Friday, June 22.  We need the whole club to turn out for this important event.   Please be there.
