Two club members have completed massive antenna projects and they should be recognized. Randy, AJ4RW purchased and put up a 75 foot US Tower HDX-572 crank up tower. With the mast, that puts his antenna at about 90 feet.
The collapsed tower delivered on the trailer ![]() The pit for antenna base 7' X 7' X 6.5' deep (Is that Jimmy Hoffa's leg down there?). ![]() The completed antenna base.
The completed and extended tower and antenna. Wayne, KD8MRC bought and put up a 120' Rohn 45 tower. Mary and I went over the day they put the last sections up and we both came home with a crick in our neck from looking up so high. It's a very impressive looking tower. Kudos to Steve for staying up on the tower most of the day while the sections were hoisted up and bolted together. Wayne put the final section on and Pat, Dan and Jamie were ground crew. ![]() Dan operating the winch ![]() Jamie and Pat working up a sweat ![]() Steve on the tower ![]() Installing the antenna ![]() Completed tower
Both Randy and Wayne should be congratulated for undertaking and completing such massive projects. I understand that signal reports from
both stations are now 599.
