Hey Guys,

I was wondering if you guys were planning a training class for the Technician License any time soon? I've always had an interest in Ham and have always wanted to get certified.

As a matter of fact, we are working on a course that we will be presenting in a couple of weeks.  In the mean time you can take a look at the Ham study guide and practice questions we have in this section.

If you have any questions you can call me at 386-688-4057.

Ron, KK4HGY.

Looking through the study guide now and am already having a blast. Learning the rest of things I halfway know.

Great!  Go through the guide and then start taking the practice test.   There are 350 questions in the pool and each time you test they randomly pick 35 questions and grade you on it.  When you can consistently get a score of 85 then you should be able to pass the test.

We give the test once a month by appointment.  You need a picture ID and $15.00 application fee.

When is the next test day? Do you ever hold one on the weekend?

Hi Forrest,

Ready to test for your General?

Testing is held the first Friday of the month.  Next time is Oct. 5.  That's the official time.  Unofficially, I think we would work with anyone who wanted to test on a weekend as well.  I took my test for General on a Saturday at field day.  In order to give the test we must have 3 VE's (volunteer examiner) so it's a good idea to set it up in advance.

Wayne, KD4MRC is the one in charge of testing.
